2016 Concert

The children at The Peaceful Children’s Homes in Sre Ampel and Battambang, as well as the organizers and musicians of “In Concert for Cambodia” (IC4C), would like to thank all of the sponsors, donors and patrons who made this Tenth Anniversary Concert such a success. With your help, this concert set a new record, raising over $7,000 for the Homes.

Hosted by CBC-TV’s Adrian Harewood, the event celebrated the contribution of young people to supporting their peers half a world away. IC4C founder, Laurent Côté (now 23), gave the opening remarks, honouring the work of subsequent IC4C Youth Coordinators – Nicolas Côté, Basia Walczak and Kyle Burghout. Ten outstanding young musicians performed chamber and fiddle music in MacKay United Church. For the first time, the concert also featured the rich Khmer culture, with traditional Cambodian musicians and singers on stage at Memorial Hall. Over 120 people attended the concert and stayed on for the silent auction and refreshments.

All proceeds will go towards the food, health and educational needs of over 100 children and young people at the Peaceful Children’s Homes, including their university studies.
